Also called profile link
Bio link is the shorter name for the single clickable URL placed in a social media profile, and by extension for the page it points to.
The two words describe the two ends of the same thing. The bio link is the URL sitting in the profile field, and it is also the page that URL opens. Context decides which one is meant.
The distinction matters when you measure. Traffic to the bio link is counted at the page, not at the profile: platforms do not report how many people saw the URL, only your page analytics report how many arrived. The gap between profile views and page visits is the real click-through rate, and it is usually far smaller than creators expect.
Because the URL itself is visible in the profile, it is read as a signal before it is clicked. A short branded address suggests a business; a long address full of tracking parameters suggests an affiliate.
In practice
A profile showing `taap.bio/marie` reads differently from one showing a 60-character URL with a query string — same destination, different implied professionalism.
Common mistake
Changing the bio link URL often. Every change breaks the links already shared in old posts, comments and reposts, and those keep sending traffic for months.
