Instagram line break generator

Write a caption or bio, choose standard lines or a blank spacer, then copy the exact Unicode text. The output stays in your browser and includes a 2,200-character caption counter.

The counter uses Unicode code points.

0 / 2,200 characters

The blank spacer uses LF + U+2800 + LF. Instagram does not document that this sequence is retained in every app.

Line break characters

Copy candidates for testing. Do not use a zero width space as a forced paragraph break.

Line break

A standard LF line break. Instagram does not document how profile bios preserve it.

U+000A

Blank line spacer

LF + Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800) + LF. It looks blank, but U+2800 is a visible Unicode glyph, not a guaranteed invisible character.

U+000A U+2800 U+000A

Braille blank

The spacer used in the blank-line candidate above.

U+2800

Zero width space

Creates a possible wrap point; it is not a paragraph break.

Instagram captions and bios often need more than one visual line: ideas, offers and calls to action should not fight for the same sentence. This generator preserves ordinary line feeds or inserts a candidate blank-line sequence made from LF + U+2800 + LF. Instagram captions allow up to 2,200 characters; bios have their own 150-character limit. The right workflow is therefore copy, paste, save and check the final Instagram surface.

How to add spacing to Instagram captions and bios

Keep the text readable first. The line break is only there to separate information a reader should take in as separate ideas.

  1. Write each idea on its own line

Use one short line for who you are, one for what you offer, and one for the action you want a visitor to take.

  2. Choose the spacing to test

Keep standard line breaks for the most direct result, or add the blank spacer candidate when you want more air between lines.

  3. Copy and verify in Instagram

Paste the result into the caption or bio editor, save it, then inspect the published post, Reel or profile.

Examples

  • Three readable lines

A role, product and next step are easier to scan when each has a line.

Photographer / Presets / Shop below Three standard line breaks

  • A visual pause

A blank spacer can separate an identity block from a single link or call to action.

Designer / educator / then one link LF + U+2800 + LF candidate

  • A portable copy

The output is text, not an image. It can be pasted into a caption or bio editor and read back for verification.

Limits and sources

  • The ordinary line break is U+000A LINE FEED. The blank spacer option inserts U+000A, U+2800 BRAILLE PATTERN BLANK and U+000A. U+2800 looks blank but is not a guaranteed invisible character.
  • Do not rely on U+200B ZERO WIDTH SPACE as a forced paragraph break. It offers a possible wrapping point; it is not a newline.
  • Instagram captions allow up to 2,200 Unicode code points. A bio has a separate 150-character limit. The blank spacer remains a test candidate, not a platform promise.
  • The browser count is an editing aid. Instagram is always the final validator after you paste and save the caption or bio.

Questions

Yes. Use standard line breaks for a Reel or post caption. This field follows Instagram’s documented 2,200-character caption limit. The blank spacer remains a candidate to test in the final editor.

The result depends on the editor, app version and device that render it. Standard line breaks are the most direct option. Paste and save the final text in Instagram rather than trusting a browser preview for a blank-line candidate.

There is no documented Instagram-only invisible character. This tool offers a blank-line candidate made from a line feed, U+2800 BRAILLE PATTERN BLANK and a second line feed. It is intentionally labelled as a test candidate because the platform does not guarantee it.

Yes. A line feed and the U+2800 spacer are Unicode code points, so they count toward a caption’s 2,200-character limit and a bio’s 150-character limit.

No. U+200B ZERO WIDTH SPACE can indicate a wrap opportunity; it is not a paragraph break. Use a real line feed when you need a new line, then test any extra spacing in the Instagram editor.
